Penal Days
Rehill manor the family seat of Butler's of Rehill was the refuge of many priests in the penal days. Archbishop of Armagh found shelter within the walls. He is better known by the name Blessed Oliver Plunket.
It is well known that during his stay there he ordained priests. At length he was captured and taken to London tried, condemed and hanged.
In a very short time expect to see him canonised.
