    he kept for his poor mother. When he had a firkin of butter he brought it to Sligo market and then paid the rent. One year the cow had very little milk and then he hadn't enough of money for Lily. The agent gave till ten o'clock on a certain night to have the money ready. After paying their own money the people of the district were unable to give him any financial aid. All their money had been sucked out of them. When the agent returned at the stroke of ten Fanning hadn't the money and so, he was evicted.
