It is said that it is not right to throw stones on St. Stephen's Day as St Stephen was stoned on this day. A crowd of Wren Boys go from house to house on that day collecting money. When they go into the houses they dance and play. If the people refuse to give them money they will bury the wren at the door. It is said that ill luck will follow them for the year.St Brigid's Day.
St Brigid's Day falls on the first of February. People, on that day, made rush crosses and put them in their houses. It is said that there will be no sickness in(continues on next page)
