  1. The patron Saint of this district is St. Martin. There is a Blessed Well in Clarefield about a mile and a half from here called St. Martin's Well because it said that St.Martin rested there.
    People visit this well and do rounds on the 11th November to honour the Saint. On this day fowl is killed and the blood is spilled because it is said St. Martin was ground in a mill and his blood was spilled. Long ago St. Martin's Well was at the opposite side of the road and it was disrespected by the people and some other people closed it
