  1. About thirty or forty years ago it was said a leprachaun was seen in one of Lillis's fields east of the school.
    It was said that it was some of the school-children saw it at dusk and they followed it and just as they were coming near him he vanished.
    He wore a red peaked cap and a red jacket striped with green and shoes with turned-up tops. Some of the people told the police who were in Kilkee at that time called the R.I.C. but when they went in search of him he was nowhere to be seen or found.
    Shoe-making was what he spent all his time at and it is said he always
