- The strawmen are men who dress up in straw on the night of a wedding and go to the bride's house and sing and dance and get money.
They go to a public house then and spend the money on drink. When they are drunk they go back to the wedding- house and dance and spend the night there.
Once there was a wedding at a house near us and men dressed in straw and went to the house. When they went to the house the people had gone away to they did not get any money that night. When the two who had got married came back again after a week the strawmen dressed up again and went to their house and got money and went away and spent the money on drink.
