  1. When Doctor Moore lived near Drum he had two servant boys, one named Burns and the other named Stuart. Burns was kept for driving the doctor and every time the doctor wanted him unexpectedly he was up in Drum.
    The doctor told Vogan, the blacksmith to dress up and stand at the foot of his land and frighten Burns some night. Vogan dressed, blackened his face, put on big boots and put chains hanging round him and stood at the end of the lane.
    After a while Stuart, who was going to Drum, on a message for the doctor, and Vogan thought it was Burns so he ran after him to frighten him. Then Stuart hit him and bled his nose and Vogan went back and waited for Burns.
    Soon Burns came down and Vogan followed him and rattled the chains. Burns was very frightened and he ran all the way to Drum. When he met Stuart they
