- The shoemaking is a tradition in the Hopkin's family for five generations. The shoemakers are scarce nowadays because nearly all boots are made by machinery.
- Long ago on Hollow Eve night people who had sore feet left a basin of clean water outside the back door and the next morning they wash their feet in it and they are cured. It is said that the fairies put some kind of soap in it.
