  1. My father is a farmer. We grow potatoes every year. Sometimes he grows more potatoes that he grows at other times. My father and the workman prepare the ground for the crop. If the manure heap in the farmyard gets too large some of the manure is carted out and put in small heaps in the field which is intended for the potato crop. The field is not turned up yet. The manure is then spread on the field. The whole field may not be manured at this time as the manure heap my be exhausted.
    The field is then ploughed. The field in which the potatoes are to be set is always about two acres or mote in area. We have a little more than three acres of ground under the potato
