Ar an leathanach seo

  1. Long ago people used to make boxty bread and potatoe cakes and many other kind of cakes.
    The boxty was made with potatoes. The potatoes were skinned and washed clean. Then they were grated with a grated and left in a basin. The water wrung out of them and the dry potatoes were mixed with boiled potatoes and salt was put on it. Then it was put into an oven and felt there until it was baked.
    A potato cake was made of potatoes also. They were boiled first and skinned and washed clean. Then they were pounded well and mixed with flour. Then salt was put on it and it was put on the fire to bake.
    Another cake was "dumplins." Potatoes were grated and mixed with flour. It was shaped like a ball and put into a flour bag, and put to boil for an hour. It was called fox in the bag.
    Oaten bread was an other well
