Ar an leathanach seo
- People seldom speak about the famine and it is hard to get any facts concerning it. On questioning people they say that the people died in thousands and anyone who was left emigrated to America if they could. It is plain to be seen that all local history started sometime after the famine and people know little or nothing of events which preceeded it.
A man in the locality told me that his grand-father had a field of turnips at that particular period and that he had to sit up every night with a blunderbus to guard them from his starving neighbours. Relief(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
