  1. There are potatoes grown on our farm at home. There are about two and a half acres sown under potatoes each year. The amount does'nt vary much each year.
    My father and sometimes a workman prepares the ground for them. The potatoes are sown in drills but most of the people sow them in ridges. First the ground is ploughed and cross-ploughed and harrowed and made into drills.
    Then the manure is put in each alley and then the potatoes are dropped and
