Folklore.
Local Poets.
There are not many poets in my district. There was one the name of John Burns who made many poets.
There is a poet in the townland of Lahard. He made a poem about Lough Oughter castle. He also made a poem about Drumgoon, the name of it is "Lovely Sweet Drumgoon" The first verse is -
One evening as yon towering hill the golden sun did screen,
There lonely strayed a poor exile far from the Isle of Green.
With troubled mind and tearfull eye he watched the rising moon.
Till at last his thoughts went back once more to lovely sweet Drumgoon.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
