- There were not many country shops in olden times. The people had to go to the nearest town for their goods, and to make purchases.
Mostly money was given for goods, but (very) occasionally eggs or fowl were given.
Buying and selling was carried on after Mass, but is not practised now. The articles sold in this way were cattle, pigs, fowl, butter and eggs.
