  1. The old Irish people firmly beleived in the existence of fairies.
    This belief existed in Ireland for hundreds of years and it was only during the last fifty years that it died out.
    The writer questioned several people of the old generation which have now passed away as to who were the "fairies" supposed to be or how did they originate.
