Ar an leathanach seo
- The Churn we have at home is 3 1/2 feet in height. It is 2 feet 3 ins at the top and 2 feet wide at the bottom. The sides are round and the various parts are the crib, lid, dash and joggler. Butter is made three times a week in Summer and twice a week in Winter.
Strangers who come in to the house during the churning of the milk say "God bless the work" and they take a brash. The churning takes an hour and it is done by hand.
The dash is always moved upwards and downwards and when the butter is made the dash comes up free of milk.
The butter is lifted out of the churn with butter spades and put in to a wooden dish.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
