    In this district the old people believed in the existence of the Banshee, which was supposed to be some mysterious spirit from the other world, which would cry very conveniently to the dwelling house of some person who was sick as a warning of death. This spirit was supposed to follow some families and not others, so that it was regarded as a kind of family ghost.
    It was generally heard crying around midnight, and it had a very piteous cry, which used to strike terror into the hearts of the listeners.
    Some people used to mantain that they saw the Banshee, which resembled a small child
