- There are many cures in my district which existed long ago.
In Denn there is a holy well and it is said that there is a cure in its waters for many ailments such as a sore leg or arm. The sick people have to go there and kneel to pray and when they are leaving they have to leave something behind them in a bush which is there for that purpose. If they do not leave something it is said that they will not be well and it is also said that the well will follow them. Most people leave a pin at it in the bush. Tradition has it that a woman went to this well to get cured but it was not in that place at the time and she went away without leaving any thing in the bush and it is said that the well followed her to there. This well is in the field of William Fegan Denn.
