    There was a beautiful two storey house built on the Island beside the old Lock. This Lock is quite near to my house.There are old walls in the river, there were gates in the river, there was a canal cut and the gates were put there in order to make the water flow through the canal.
    The reason the canal was cut long ago before there were any railways made, the ferry boats sailed from town to town.
    There are parts of the canal very deep and other parts there is no water in at all.
    Further down the second river is a big wall called the basin. This wall was built for catching fish.
