  1. Many years ago there were great evictions in Castlekevin. The people were all put out of their houses because they could not pay their rent and the houses were knocked down.
    There are many ruins to be seen there still. There is one called "Loughlin's walls" it is by the roadside. It is called Loughlin's because people by the name of Loughlin's lived there.
    There is a hill about five minutes walk from where I live and it is called the "Evicted hill" because there were two families living there and they were also evicted.
    There was a song composed about it.
