- Shops were not as common in former times, as people did not go to school to learn the bussiness. The shops loong ago did not sell everything, so that meant the had to go to town to purchase or sell.
Buying is still carried on after mass. They buy a paper the "Wicklow People", or a loaf, tobacco, cigarettes and so on.
Money is still not always given for goods. The women bring their eggs and butter to a shop and take up tea and sugar, and other things instead of the money.
