- Churning
Everyone has a churn at home. Cauddy's have a dash churn. It is 2 1/4 feet high and 3 feet wide at the bottom and 2 feet at the top. They are round. Butter is made every week in the Winter and twice in the Summer. Mrs Cuddy does the churning. If a stranger comes in while a person is churning he would take a turn.
The O'Neill's, The Browne's and The Rigney's have an end over end churn. They look in through the glass in the lid to see if the churning is done. Boiling water is poured in to raise the temperature(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
