  1. There is a fort in the townland of Noggusduff, in a field owned by Mr Thomas Kenny, Noggusduff, Ferbane, Offaly parish of Wheery and Tissarn.
It is a very old fort and it is said that there are fairies in it because they have often been heard there.
One moon light night my uncle, Mr Patrick Bennett, Noggusboy, Ferbane, Offaly, and my grandfather, and my father were out hunting and they heard the fairies dancing, and talking, and galloping on horses. the dog came running back to them and would not go any further. They had to carry home the dog and they came home immediately themselves also.
Another night a travelling man slept in one of Kenny's outhouses and the next morning he was inquiring was there a dance or a party in Kenny's the night before.
He said he never such nice music or singing before. It was the fairies he had heard.
