  1. Old Forts
    There is no fort in this localty except one. That is on the field of Mr. Kenny, Noggusduff, Ferbane, Offaly. which is called the "Fort Field".
    In the field there is a round hill and on the side of the hill there is a ring of bushes.
    There is no hole or entrance in the fort. It was never interfered with and it is believed it would be unlucky to do so.
    It is said that James Donlan's father Coolnakinch, Ferbane, saw fairies in the field. He heard lovely music and he saw fairies dancing.
