  1. I live in the Townsland of Templeudigan , in the Parish of Rathnure and in the Barony of Bantry .Approximately there are about forty -two families in the towns land and one hundres and sixty people . There are places which are called by different names but which are example Lower Cummer and Ballycullen. The most common names in the district are :-
    Byrne , Murphy , Furlong, Doyle and Kavanagh . The majority of the houses are slated. The Townsland got its name from a saint who lived here in very ancient times, his name was Ludigan and he built a famous monastery or temple hence it is called Templeudigan or
