are end over end churns.
The following composition is typical of those recieved in this school.I have a churn at home. It is about three feet high and the top of the churn is one foot six inches wide, and the bottom of it one foot five inches wide.
The sides of the churn are round. There is a round mark on the bottom of the churn.
It is about eighteen years of age.
The butter is made twice a week in Summer and once a week in Winter.
My mother generally does this churning.
When strangers come they help.
It takes half an hour in Summer and an hour in Winter to do the churning. People know to stop churning when the glass is clear. Water is poured in during the process. The butter is taken out with a butter dish and(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
