    the straw in little bundles and leave it on the ground for some days before using it. When they were going to thatch a ladder was placed against the roof and all the old thatch was taken off. Then the ends of the straw was twisted and put into the roof with a
    truster. When the thatching was completed a few buckets of water were put over it to keep it level. Then the thatch was raked dpwn with a thatching rake. Then the(y)thatching is made firm by putting
    sprays up and down through it.
