    A Story
    Once upon a time there dwelt in an old abbey a number of Monks. It was situated on the banks of an old river. They had lived there for hundreds of years. When the old monks died the younger ones took their places. They had grown very rich by their own hard work. They had very costly ornaments of gold and silver. Every morning and every evening the bell was rung to call the monks to prayer in the Chapel.
    The younger monks used go out in a boat and one evening as one of them was out rowing he met with an Officer belonging to the English Government who asked him all about the Monks. The young Monk was foolish enough to tell him all about their
