1. Fairy Forts

   

   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   There are many "Fairy Forts" in the school District.
   They are situated in the townlands of Clonterm, Churchland, Curry, Clooneena, Dunbeggan, Trillick, Stonepark, and Caldramore.
   They are not in view of one another.
   They are all round in shape with a fence of trees around them. There is an entrance into each one of them.
   They were supposed to have been built by the Danes for the purpose of warfare, but it has been handed down that fairy people also lived in them long ago.
   The owners of the land in which the forts are do not interfere with them when ploughing or planting crops.
   There has been music and the sound of churning heard in them and lights have also been seen in them.
   I was told the following true story about the fort in Stonepark:-
   One evening as a man was going into the fort to cut a rod, he saw some small people inside in the fort. He had often heard of fairies before and did not take much notice of them. When they saw him
