- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)fire. Mrs Kelly had cabbage boiling in a pot on the fire. The strange woman asked for some. Mrs Kelly told her that it was not boiled and if she waited for a little while that she could have her dinner as the members of the house would soon be home from Mass. The strange woman, however, persisted and at last Mrs Kelly took a fork, lifted some cabbage with it and having cut it up finely with a table-knife gave it to the woman. She refused to take anything else with it. Having eaten the cabbage the strange woman got up & having thanked Mrs Kelly walked out the door. Mrs Kelly anxious to find out who she was & what road she would take followed her out. But to her great surprise no trace of the strange woman was to be seen.
