- Ann Hand in later years occupied the Brady's farm. Her husband being dead she employed a man named Tommie Rehill, of Larkfield whom I remember myself and who is not very long dead.
One day some bushing of ditches had to be done and Ann asked Tommie to get the knife and cut the bushes in the fort. Tommie agreed to do so provided Ann cut the first bush and marked the others for him. Ann not believing in stair-mogs did not hesitate to do so. She went out and cut the first bush and marked all the others. Next day Ann fell sick, went to bed and never did any good. Finally she died. On the day of her funeral, her corpse was placed in the coffin which had(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
