    are so large that there are a number of animal on the streets.
    It is usually the cows that are on the fairgreen and the younger stock lined on the streets.
    When an animal is sold the man who receives the money give the buyer back some money "for luck" and this is called a "luckpenny". It ranges from sixpence to ten shilling according to the value of the animal sold.
    When an animal is sold the parties concerned show their agreement by slapping hands.
    The buyers have several ways for marking the animals.
    Some take a piece of mud and mark the animal on the flank with it, others take out their scissors and cut off a piece of hair while others still mark with keel.
