  1. There is one forge in this parish. This forge belongs to Bernard Corrigan. The roof is made of laths with felt put over them.
    There is a stream at the back of the forge where he gets the water to cool irons.
    The tools he has for working are - the pincers, the hammer, the sledge, the anvil and the vice.
    Long ago the blacksmith used to make his own bellows or at least cover an old bellows with leather. But now they get their bellows in the shops.
    There is a big door in the forge like the door of a shed and it is opened by pulling it to one side. It runs on rollers and is easily closed by pushing it back again.
