  1. In the time of the Famine the hungry people of the country used to break in on the windows and take every thing that they could get. The people had to put iron bars in the windows to keep the robbers out. Even to this day those bars are to be seen in some of the windows of the old houses. Those people used to go around from house to house with masks on them so that no one would recognise them as they used to go to neighbours houses as well as to strange houses. Heard from
