  2. I live in the townsland of Balinacliffy. It is in the parish of Tubberclair and in the barony of Kilkenny West. The name Balliinacliffy means the townsland of the stone castle. There are eleven families in this district and thirty-six people. The name McElinn is the commonest. There are four people over seventy years of age.
