Fairy Forts
There is a fort not far from my home which is called mulla harnian. In certain nights of the year there are lights seen and wailing if people heard. In this place also there is a stray sod which came there hundreds of years ago after a witch was buried under it. Anyone passing this fort at night would be led astray. I never heard that there was ever a cave or hole in it.
Fairy Fort
There is a fort called Rathbhán about 3 miles from this school. In former years it was a great hiding place for robbers. One day a robber was shot and as he was dying he said "There are more treasures hid in the fort of Rathbhán than would make up all belonging to him" There are bushes growing all around it. The treasures were never dug for because the people believe it is guarded by a mad dog.- Bailitheoir
