    the pump and then they put a cork in each end. The handle of the pump is pushed in and the corks fly through the air.
    Boys also make marbles from candle-grease. They melt a piece of candle and mix it with turf ashes. Then they roll it into little balls and round it like a marble. The balls are left in a very cold place to dry and harden and then they can be used for a game of marbles.
