Mullingar. - Hurling must have been a famous game long ago because it is said that there was a mill owned by Mr Willis where Flanagans Mill is now and over forty were employed in making hurleys. The matches were played between one end of the parish and the other. A famous place for hurling matches was Cullionbeg and a man by the name of Gavagan made the hurleys(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
