    brewery. So Murrays made a lot of money and employed many people. Mr Murray got one side of the street flagged to accommodate the people that were employed in the brewery. The other side of the street is cobble stones to the present day. One time the two brothers had a row, and one of them turned on the ale taps, and the ale ran down the street.
    When James Stephens was enlisting the names for the Fenians in 1867 for the Rebellion instead of lodging he stayed in the brewery.
    "the Wash" that is the grain which is left after the barley has been brewn was bought in carts loads by the farmers of the district and used for feeding cattle and fowl.
