    On May day lots of boys go from house to house with a decorated bush shouting "A penny for the May bush." In England thousands of people go out and wash their faces in the dew of the grass on the mountains and in the meadows. Lots of people sprinkle flowers in front of their homes to keep the bad fairies away.
    People say that no one should bathe on that day or during the month. They say that the bather is only asking to be drowned.
    "April, May, keep far from the sea."
