  1. If you have whooping cough you must find a donkey and cut some hair off on the cross on its back. Chop it up and eat it in bread and butter.

  2. Long years ago when the people had sore throats they used to get a sample of honey. They then boiled a few stalks of hore-hound for a certain time and then gave it a good stir, until the mixture was quite dissolved. They then left it by in a bottle for use as an unfailing remedy for sore throats.
