“One dark night a man who was used to playing cards every night was going home.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)man said he would not be able to go to him for a year and the black man said he would meet him in the same place when the year was up. When the year was up the black man's dog came and met the young man in the same place. The dog said his master had not time to come and that he had to come himself. They went to the black man's house and the black man told the young man to go out and clean the stable that it was not cleaned for a hundred years. The young man set to work and had to find a needle that his mother lost in the dirt. He got a fork and every forkful he took out of the shed two forksfull went back again. At dinner time a beautiful lady came out with his dinner to him and asked him how was it he had not the stable cleaned out.
