  1. Fairy Forts
The fairy rath of which I speak of is situated in Piercetown, Dunboyne, which is owned at present by Mr. Yourell.
The fairy rath is on a big hill and in two acres of ground which is fenced in with strong thorned hedges and it is withing a 100 yards of a large dwelling house.
There are a lot of rabbits in the fence which surrounds the rath and they can never be caught.
To this very day music and the sound of horses feet tramping on every Halloween night.
It is said that some years ago that the servant girl was taken into the rath by the fairies who said she would be left back on conditions that two Polly milch cows would be left on that rath unmilked by anybody but the fairies.
The cows were not left there and the girl was not left back. The girl's name was Margaret Moore.
    Nobody was ever taken since.
