- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Water-cress is a very common plant used by the local people. The plant is usually found growing in marshy places and when eaten with salt forms a very enjoyable meal. Rye grass and vetches are very good feeding for cattle.
Hemlock is a very poisonous weed. If this is eaten, especially the root, it will poison the person who does so.
An old woman named Peggy Faly who lived in this locality long ago, was said to have been able to cure wild-fire with certain herbs she used. She never told anyone the kind of herbs she used in doing this and therefore it is not known.
