  1. The following are the weeds found in this district:-
    Chicken weed, dandelion, thistle, presha, scutch, garlic, St Patrick's leaf, daukens, wild mint, bay leaf, lemon leaf, bultran, hemlock, forkes, capóg, golden rod.
    The bultran and nettles grow on good land.
    The hemlock, forkes, thistle, presha, scutch, daukens, and capóg grow rapidly.
    Wine can be made from dandelion, St Patricks leaf cures cuts. Garlic is good for worms or for the pip.
    Sauce can be made from wild-mint, & bay leaf is used for flavouring, lemon leaf is used for making tea. hemlock is used for curing fluke in sheep.
    Capóg is used for nettle stings and also for food for fowl, golden rod leaves boiled are a cure for colds, forkes is used for fattening pigs.
    There is a weed with a pulpy leaf and a pulpy stem & if it is rubbed to your feet it will cure them, but you must squeeze the juice of it.
    It only grows on rocks or along walls.
    Nettles are given to young ducks and turkeys, chopped
