(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)invaders.Of the historic old castle only two square towers now remain, one about sixty feet high and the other about forty. The ceiling or floors are arched and made entirely of stone. A winding staircase is built in the thickness of one of the walls which are loop-holed.
The stairs which are built entirely of stone lead from the entrance door to the upper floors. No timber was used in the construction of the castle. There were two moats one in the north and the other in the south, the remains of which are still to be seen.Séamus P.O. Éalaidhthe
