- With the passing of time the food of the people has changed a lot. Approximately one hundred years ago the people ate very wholesome food, such as, potatoes, porridge, and plenty of vegetables.
Tea was not known until about eighty years ago. Before that time potatoes and "sciodar" or thick sour milk was the principal food used. The food used almost every day was; porridge, "black bread" and "sciodar" for breakfast, potatoes and "sciodar" for breakfast, potatoes and "sciodar" for dinner, and the same for supper. On certain days fish was eaten for dinner, the fish being usually salmon caught in the rivers.
