  2. Local Marriage Customs
    In olden times marriages were very seldom celebrated only at Shrove time, nowadays June is generally the month when most people are married, and mostly on Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday and Friday are considered to be very unlucky , and very few marriages take place in May or November.
