They made their way back to Tipperary travelling by the backward places. The first house they called to was Brown house. They came to the house on a bright moonlight night and putting their hands to their eyes looked in the window. "Tom!" they called. Thomas Devereux heard them and looking out recognised the Ryans. As he never thought they could escape, he thought twas their ghosts were
