- This poem was composed by Ned Feehan a shoemaker who resided at Kill Hills. The Washbrooke rises in Kill Hills and flows in an easterly direction through High Street and Silverfort to join the Clashauley.By a rippling mill,
Beneath a hill
One morning I did stray
To breathe the air
And fragrance there
By wild flowers fair and gay
All Nature smile
On Erin's Isle
But her blushes seem to hide
In that lovely vale
And shady dale
By the Washbrooke riverside,Had I the skill
The wit and quill
Of the famous Grecian bard
Or Apollo's lute
That now hangs mute
The praise I would record
Of that landscape fair
Whose beauty rare(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
